เกาะตะละเบ็ง

(เกาะตะละเบ็ง)

Talabeng is an old large rock island off the east coast of Koh Lanta Noi. About 40 Minutes from Lanta Yai on a chartered longtail boat, this is a well-known kayaking area among tourists due to the still current.

Two huge rocks stand more than 70 meters high and tower over the surface like large giants protecting a treasure make up Talabeng Island. Ancient pirates used the series of caverns on this island as their shelter. Surrounded by green forest, small creatures such as monkey and lizards are often encountered. The exploration of the caves is the highlight of this trip. They feature fresh clear water, and stalagmite and stalactite that twinkle and sine. Somewhat difficult to travel along, the exterior is fairly steep but worth the effort.

Vibrant marine life is an unbeatable highlight of the Koh Rok tour from Koh Lanta island, where waters are not as pristine.

Koh Rok consists of two islands, always included in the Koh Rok tour. The first island is Koh Rok Yai, with a long stretch of white powder beach, considered among the top ten most beautiful beaches in Thailand. The second island, Koh Rok Noi, features an impressive snorkeling area, a pole mark that points to the end of Thailand, and a sublime Koh Rok Waterfall for diving. Both islands can be visited from Koh Lanta from November till May. There are no accommodation options in Koh Rok islands.

วัดถ้ำเสือ

The foundation of the temple dates back to 1975 (B.E. 2518) when a Vipassana monk named Jumnean Seelasettho (Ajahn Jumnean) went to meditate in the cave. During his meditation, he witnessed tigers roaming around the cave.

This discovery led to naming the temple Wat Tham Suea. Another legend says that an actual huge tiger used to live and roam the cave.

The naming of the temple also comes from discoveries of a tiger paw prints on the cave walls, and also the bulge of the cave resembling a tiger's paw.

There is also an interesting salt water hot springs at Huay Nam Khao, in Klong Thom district, though the bathing pools here are shallow and have been artificially created from concrete, so the setting is not as picturesque. Posted in Forests & Waterfalls, What To Do In Krabi and tagged Travel

The Emerald Pool and the Blue Lagoon are part of the Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve, and their waters come from thermal hot springs that are deep underground. As such, the whole area becomes a hotbed for backpackers and tour groups from all over south eastern Thailand, and this leads to a lot of cramped conditions, where your enjoyment of the pools will be curtailed by the sheer number of people sharing the space with you.

ท่าปอม คลองสองน้ำ

The park is located on the edge of the Andaman sea tide line and waters rotate from brackish to fresh and transform from slightly murky to emerald-green clarity. As the water miraculously turns crystal clear, tree roots, mangroves, neon green plants, and a host of never before seen vegetation are revealed.

There are six islands in the group known as Phi Phi. They lie 50 km south-east of Phuket and are part of Hadnopparattara-Koh Phi Phi National Park which is home to an abundance of corals and marine life. There are limestone mountains with cliffs, caves and long white sandy beaches.

The national park covers a total area of 242,437 Rai. Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Le are the largest and most well-known islands. Phi Phi Don is 28 sq.m: 8 Km in length and 3.5 Km wide. Phi Phi Le is 6.6 sq. km.

Most of the development of Phi Phi Don is situated in or around Ton Sai village, which is on the low, sandy isthmus that joins the two hilly spurs that comprise the rest of the island. There are also other, quieter resorts on Long Beach, Laem Thong, and at other less accessible areas of the island.

หาดไร่เลย์

Accessible only by boat, but just a 15-minute ride from Ao Nang, the busiest parts of Railay are sandwiched between the scrappy, not good for swimming, beach of Hat Railay East and the high-end resorts and beautiful white sand of Hat Railay West and Hat Tham Phra Nang.

Railay is more crowded than it once was and sees many day trippers. Thankfully, though, it remains much less-developed than Ko Phi-Phi and if you head away from Hat Railay West and Hat Railay East the resorts disappear and the atmosphere is one of delightfully laid-back Thai-Rasta bliss.

ถ้ำเขาไม้แก้ว

Put on a headlamp and prepare for an adventurous trek through Khao Mai Kaew Cave. The cave itself is dark, muddy, and slippery, and you'll be climbing ladders, pushing and crawling through small openings, walking across bamboo bridges, and encountering bats, large cave spiders, frogs, and other critters along the way. Once inside the cave, reward yourself with a swim in the cave pools, among the stalactite and stalagmite formations.

Note that this is not for the faint of heart--even the climb to the cave can be quite demanding. Wear older clothes and comfortable shoes. To visit Khao Mai Kaew Cave and get the most from your holiday in Ko Lanta, create itinerary details personal to you using our tour desk at hotel.

ถ้ำเพชรร่าปู

With a deep and scary nature that makes it accessible only with one of the local guides who hang out at the entrance, this cave has long tunnels leading to a cathedral-size chamber with a cool pool at the center. Expect to pothole through tight pinches, climb down bamboo ladders and pull yourself.
